Birthday Celebrations!
At Olivedale Montessori, we celebrate each child's birthday with a special tradition known as the birthday ring.
During this celebration, children are invited to stand in a circle while their classmates and teachers sing songs and share special moments about the Child we are celebrating.
We encourage parents to participate by providing a small treat to share with the class, such as snacks or cupcakes. This simple yet meaningful celebration fosters a sense of community and makes each child feel valued and cherished on their special day.
Please let us know in advance if you would like to celebrate your child's birthday at school!
Annual Highlights and Activities

From extracurricular programs that spark new skills to special school events like petting zoos, Mother’s and Father’s Day celebrations, and our much-loved end-of-year concert, each occasion is designed to enrich your child’s learning journey. These moments go beyond the classroom, creating memories, building confidence, and fostering a sense of community among our children, parents, and teachers.
Our School Events
At Olivedale Montessori, our year is filled with special events that bring our school community together. From petting zoos and themed dress-up days to Mother’s and Father’s Day celebrations, sports days, and our much-anticipated end-of-year concert, every event is designed to create joyful memories and enrich our children’s learning experience. These occasions foster connection, confidence, and a true sense of belonging for both children and families.
Extra mural programs
At Olivedale Montessori, we believe in giving children the chance to explore new interests and develop their talents beyond the classroom. Our extracurricular activities offer exciting opportunities for skill-building, creativity, and confidence—ranging from sports and dance to arts, music, and more.
These programs are offered at an additional cost and are not included in school fees. Each year, extramural companies visit our school to host engaging demonstrations, allowing children (and parents) to see what’s on offer before making a choice. Activities may change annually based on student interest and parent feedback, ensuring our program stays fresh, exciting, and aligned with our community’s needs.
Phyzz Ed Sports
Phyzz Ed Sportz introduces children aged 2–14 to proudly South African sports, focusing on skills, fitness, coordination, and confidence. The fun, constructive coaching environment prepares young players for the next stage of their sporting journey while keeping the joy of the game alive.
Stimuzone
Stimu-Zone equips children with essential 21st-century skills through fun, hands-on learning in AI, robotics, coding, and computer literacy. Our programs develop critical thinking, problem-solving, teamwork, and creativity, preparing learners for a future driven by technology and innovation.
For preschoolers, we focus on building perception skills through sensory experiences, play, and exploration - nurturing curiosity and a deeper understanding of the world.
BA Create
Specialising in developing whole-brain creativity and fine motor skills by using pottery as a medium to create and play with texture, building and pottery sculpture.
Music Box
Music Box is a proudly South African pre-music program for children from babies to 6 years old, as well as special needs learners. Through musical fun, instrument play, movement, and storytelling, we nurture social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. Every lesson is built on creative play, inspiring imagination, laughter, and a love for music.
